Product Detail
In Stock 0.025-10 mm Wire | 3-7 Day Dispatch | ISO 9001 & SGS Certified

Common diameters of high temperature nickel wire from 0.025 mm to 10 mm are kept spooled for dispatch in 3-7 days, in soft, half hard or hard temper. The range covers Ni200 (UNS N02200) and Ni201 (UNS N02201) for general and higher-temperature duty, plus N4 (≥99.9%) and N6 (≥99.5%) for parts that need purity documented on the certificate. Orders start at 5 kg, so a wire specification can be validated on production material before volume is committed. Every lot ships with a mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1).

Technical Details

Temperature Limits of Pure Nickel Wire

Ni200 holds structural and electrical duty to roughly 315°C. Above that, carbon in the grade can precipitate at grain boundaries and embrittle the wire, so sustained high-temperature work is specified in Ni201 with carbon limited to 0.02%. In air, oxidation sets the practical ceiling well below the melting point of 1435-1446°C, and strength falls as temperature rises, so hot parts are designed against creep. Sulfur-bearing atmospheres are excluded because low-melting nickel sulfide forms at the surface.

Diameters, Tempers and Stock

Common diameters across the 0.025-10 mm range are kept spooled for dispatch in 3-7 days. Temper is selected for the next operation: soft wire for winding, braiding and forming, half hard and hard wire for parts that have to hold shape under load. Custom diameters and tempers run on the production path; lead times are confirmed with the quote.

Grades and Purity

Grades in the Pure Nickel Series are commercially pure nickel, not alloys. Ni200 (≥99.2%) covers general electrical and thermal work; Ni201 (≥99.0%, C ≤0.02%) serves the same applications at higher temperature; N6 (≥99.5%) and N4 (≥99.9%) follow GB/T 4435 as the high-purity classes for parts that need lower total impurities. The mill test certificate states the grade the lot was made to.

Ordering, Lead Time and Documentation

Orders start at 5 kg. In-stock diameters dispatch in 3-7 days, standard production runs 7-15 days, and custom diameters 15-30 days per drawing. Each lot ships with a mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) recording actual composition and mechanicals, with ASTM and GB/T 4435 references for incoming inspection.

Applications

  • Leads, connections and electrical components requiring stable, low-resistance performance.

  • Battery connection parts.

  • Temperature-controlled heating wire (TC mode), where the grade's temperature coefficient of resistance is the working principle.

  • Plating anodes and electrochemical parts.

  • Vacuum-device components and instrument parts.

Mechanical & Physical Properties

Annealed (soft) wire: tensile strength ≥462 MPa, 0.2% yield strength ≥148 MPa, elongation ≥35%, hardness 90-120 HB. Half hard and hard tempers raise tensile strength and reduce elongation according to the ordered temper. Physical constants: density 8.908 g/cm³, melting point 1435-1446°C, thermal conductivity (Ni200) 70.2 W/m·K, electrical resistivity 0.096 μΩ·m, coefficient of thermal expansion ≈13.3 µm/m·K (typical), ferromagnetic below the Curie point of 358°C.

Quality Assurance

Production runs under ISO 9001 quality systems with SGS-verified processes. Each batch passes spectral composition analysis, tensile and hardness testing, and dimensional and surface inspection before packing, with temper verified against the ordered condition. Mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) document each lot, and N4/N6 batches follow the same inspection discipline under GB/T 4435.

References

Material data references ASTM nickel specifications and GB/T 4435; corrosion and physical property data reference ASM Specialty Handbook: Nickel, Cobalt, and Their Alloys and standard engineering sources; batch-level composition and mechanicals are verified against mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) and in-house inspection records.

Support & Services

Grade and temper selection are supported against the application, with purity documentation prepared to the format incoming inspection requires. Sample quantities from 5 kg let a wire specification be fixed on production material.

Packing and Shipping

Wire is spooled or coiled with moisture-protected wrapping to limit tarnishing, packed in export cases, and labeled with grade, diameter, temper and weight. Worldwide shipping is quoted per destination with the documentation the shipment requires. Payment by L/C, T/T, Western Union or MoneyGram.

FAQ

Q: What grades are available?
A: Ni200 (UNS N02200), Ni201 (UNS N02201), N4 and N6, in wire from 0.025-10 mm, purity stated as made.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: 5 kg.

Q: What is the delivery time?
A: 3-7 days for in-stock diameters, 7-15 days for standard production, 15-30 days for custom diameters per drawing.

Q: How hot can pure nickel wire run?
A: About 315°C for Ni200; above that, specify low-carbon Ni201. In air, oxidation limits service well below the melting range, and sulfur-bearing atmospheres are excluded because low-melting nickel sulfide forms at the surface.

Q: Can pure nickel wire be used as resistance heating wire?
A: No. Resistance heating belongs to NiCr and FeCrAl alloys. Nickel wire serves heating in temperature-control (TC mode) duty, where its temperature coefficient of resistance is used to sense and regulate temperature.

Q: What is the supply capacity?
A: 10,000 t/yr of nickel-based material across the Changzhou plant.

Q: What documents come with the shipment?
A: EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates recording actual lot composition and mechanicals, with ASTM / GB/T 4435 references for incoming inspection.

Q: What payment terms are accepted?
A: L/C, T/T, Western Union and MoneyGram.
