Product Detail
ISO 9001 & SGS Certified | Since 2002 | 10,000 t/yr Capacity

Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) round bar and rod is a documented material: a fixed ASTM identity and a certificate that records what each lot contains. Commercially pure wrought nickel, Ni200 resists caustic alkalis and reducing media while holding the strength and ductility that machined components need. Standard diameters of 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm and 20 mm are produced annealed on the Changzhou line, with other sizes made to drawing, and a mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) issued for every lot. The grade sits in the pure nickel series, alongside the low-carbon and the high-purity members of the family.

Pure Nickel Bar

Nickel 200 Bar, Electrolytic Nickel and Alloy Bars

Nickel materials are easy to confuse at the purchasing stage. Electrolytic nickel is a primary feedstock in cathode or plate form, produced by electro-refining. The bar form is wrought material, melted, cast and worked to size, then certified to ASTM B160. Within the wrought family, Ni200 and Ni201 differ only in carbon, while nickel alloy bars such as Monel and Inconel carry intentional alloy additions for duties outside pure nickel's range. A drawing that calls for Ni200 or UNS N02200 is answered by the wrought, certified bar, and where a process needs the grade in wire form, it is drawn as pure nickel wire.

Key Strengths

  • One documented identity: UNS N02200 to ASTM B160.

  • Composition and mechanical results recorded for each heat.

  • Annealed bar in the four standard diameters; other sizes to drawing.

  • Produced under ISO 9001 and SGS systems since 2002.

  • The label repeats the heat number shown on the certificate.

Technical Details

UNS N02200: What the Designation Fixes

UNS N02200 is the registered identity of Nickel 200, and ASTM B160 is the standard that sets its composition limits, mechanical minimums and test basis. Buying to the designation means the mill, the inspector and the end user read from one published basis, so a lot can be checked on receipt against numbers that were fixed before the order was placed. A description such as soft nickel or commercially pure nickel carries no such basis, and an enquiry that names only the description is quoted once the grade is pinned down.

Reading a Mill Certificate Against ASTM B160

The certificate that travels with a lot is issued against the standard, and its structure follows the standard: grade and heat number, then chemical analysis and mechanical results for that heat. A buyer checks two things, that the composition figures fall inside the standard's limits and that the heat number on the certificate matches the one on the bundle label. Values reported for a different heat, or a certificate issued against a different standard, are the two defects worth catching at goods-in.

Checking the Bar Against the Certificate

On receipt the paperwork covers the material, and the bar itself is checked against the drawing for diameter and surface. Where a lot is being qualified for a new process, those checks are what tie the material to one melt and to one set of test results. A mismatch between label and certificate is settled from the lot records, and the earlier it is raised the less it costs, because the replacement bar can be scheduled with the next melt.

ASTM B160 and Its Counterparts on the Drawing

A drawing may call the grade by UNS number or by a national designation, and both describe one bar. Ni200 and Ni201 are covered by ASTM B160 (Nickel Rod and Bar), and the N4 and N6 purity grades sit under GB/T 4435 (Nickel and Nickel Alloy Bars), with export documentation running to EN 10204 3.1 whatever the callout. Where an incoming inspection works to a national standard, the counterpart is named on the offer so the two documents line up.

Mechanical & Physical Properties

Annealed bar: tensile strength ≥462 MPa, 0.2% yield strength ≥148 MPa, elongation ≥35%, hardness 90-120 HB. Physical constants: density 8.908 g/cm³, melting point 1435-1446°C, electrical resistivity 0.096 μΩ·m, thermal conductivity (Ni200) 70.2 W/m·K, ferromagnetic below the Curie point of 358°C.

Quality Assurance

Composition is taken from the heat analysis and the finished bar is gauged before packing. The mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) carries both sets of results for the heat, and the records stay with the lot number after shipment.

Pure-Nickel-Bar Application Field

Applicable Standards

Nickel 200 / UNS N02200: ASTM B160 (Nickel Rod and Bar). N4/N6 purity grades: GB/T 4435 (Nickel and Nickel Alloy Bars). Export documentation per EN 10204 3.1.

References

Material data references ASTM B160 and UNS N02200; corrosion and application guidance references the Nickel Institute and ASM Specialty Handbook: Nickel, Cobalt, and Their Alloys; batch-level composition is verified against mill test certificates and in-house inspection records.

Packaging & Delivery

Bar is supplied in bundles with protective wrapping, packed in export wooden cases with the grade and heat number on the label. In-stock diameters ship in 3-7 days, standard production in 7-15 days, and sizes to drawing in 15-30 days. Freight is quoted per destination, and payment is by L/C, T/T, Western Union or MoneyGram.

About DZX Alloy

Jiangsu DZX Technology began in 2002 producing resistance alloys, and two decades of nickel-based production grew from that base. DZX Alloy now supplies pure nickel and specialty alloys from Changzhou, Jiangsu under ISO 9001 and SGS quality systems, with a 10,000 t/yr capacity and exports to 60+ countries. Bar orders are quoted against a stated grade and standard, and the lot is certified to it.

FAQ

Q: What is the model number of this product?
A: Nickel 200 (UNS N02200), the commercially pure wrought nickel grade defined by ASTM B160.

Q: Is electrolytic nickel the same material as this bar?
A: No. Electrolytic nickel is primary feedstock in cathode or plate form. This product is wrought Nickel 200 bar, worked from a cast ingot and certified to ASTM B160.

Q: What sizes are available?
A: Standard diameters are 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm and 20 mm, supplied annealed; other diameters and lengths are produced to drawing.

Q: Can Ni201 be supplied to the same drawing?
A: Yes. Ni201 is produced to the calls quoted for Ni200 and certified against the same standard.

Q: What does the certificate state for my lot?
A: The grade and UNS number, the heat number, the chemical analysis, and the mechanical results for that heat, issued against the standard.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: MOQ is 10 kg for bar; larger quantities are quoted by diameter and length.

Q: What is the delivery time?
A: 3-7 days for in-stock diameters, 7-15 days for standard production, and 15-30 days for sizes produced to drawing.

Q: Do you issue mill certificates?
