Product Detail
In-Stock 8-20 mm Rod | 3-7 Day Dispatch | ISO 9001 & SGS Certified

Overview

Stock availability is a specification too. Bright finish pure nickel rod in Ni200 (UNS N02200), Ni201 (UNS N02201), N4 and N6 grades is kept on hand in 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm diameters, so small quantities leave the warehouse in 3-7 days and standard production runs in 7-15 days — while custom diameters from 3-300 mm are produced per drawing. Annealed and certified to ASTM B160 (N4/N6 to GB/T 4435), every lot ships with a mill test certificate recording its actual composition.

Bright Finish and Surface States on Nickel Bar

Surface condition changes how bar behaves in your shop. Pure nickel rod can be supplied in four surface states — black (as-rolled), peeled, polished, or cold drawn bright — and the bright finish on this page is the cold drawn or polished surface: clean, dimensionally consistent and ready for precision turning and automated machining without heavy prep. If your drawing specifies a bright bar or a tight surface finish, say so with the order; if your part is machined all over, peeled or black bar may be the economical choice. The full shape and surface program for Pure Nickel Bar covers round, hexagonal and square forms.

Key Strengths

  • Four grades stocked in the same diameters — Ni200, Ni201, N4, N6 — for mixed-grade trial and production orders.

  • Bright (cold drawn) finish available for precision turning and automated machining.

  • 3-7 day dispatch on in-stock diameters; 7-15 days standard production; custom sizes per drawing.

  • Annealed bar certified to ASTM B160 with mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) per lot.

  • High resistance to caustic alkalis and reducing media for chemical equipment parts.

Technical Details

What "Bright" Means on Nickel Bar

Bright is not a purity claim — it is a surface state. Cold drawn bright bar is sized by drawing through a die to a tight diameter tolerance, which improves straightness and surface finish in one operation; polished bar takes the surface further for appearance or fit. Either way, the benefit lands in machining: consistent diameter and surface mean fewer setup changes and predictable stock removal. Specify bright when the drawing says so, and confirm the surface state with the order so the bar matches the process.

Four Grades, One Stock

The same 8-20 mm stock is held in four grades so material qualification does not have to wait on a production slot. Ni200 is the general commercial grade (C ≤0.15%); Ni201 is its low-carbon version for service above 315°C; N6 (≥99.5% Ni+Co) covers general high-purity work; N4 (≥99.9% Ni+Co) serves purity-critical applications. Grade selection guidance for the wider family is covered in the Pure Nickel Series.

Lead Times You Can Schedule

In-stock diameters dispatch in 3-7 days; standard production (non-stock diameters, 3-300 mm) ships in 7-15 days; custom lengths, tolerances or surface processing are confirmed at 15-30 days per drawing. Sending the drawing and quantity with the inquiry locks the grade, diameter, surface and delivery date before scheduling, so the bar arrives when the machine time does.

Heat Treatment and Fabrication

Annealed pure nickel rod is ductile and can be further softened or work-hardened by heat treatment and cold working to shift strength against ductility for the part. It forms by forging, rolling or drawing and machines with sharp tooling and lubrication; welded joints match the parent metal when filler is selected for the grade. For parts that will live above 315°C, confirm whether the low-carbon Ni201 structure is required.

Mechanical & Physical Properties

Annealed rod: tensile strength ≥462 MPa, 0.2% yield strength ≥148 MPa, elongation ≥35%, hardness 90-120 HB. Physical constants: density 8.908 g/cm³, melting point 1435-1446°C, electrical resistivity 0.096 μΩ·m (good conductor — resistor and heating-element service belongs to nickel-chromium alloys, not pure nickel), thermal conductivity (Ni200) 70.2 W/m·K, magnetic (ferromagnetic below Curie point 358°C).

Quality Assurance

Produced under ISO 9001 quality systems and SGS-verified processes, each rod batch passes chemical composition analysis and dimensional and surface inspection before packing. Mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) record the actual lot composition and mechanical properties, and every bar carries melt and lot traceability.

Pure-Nickel-Bar Comparison

Applicable Standards

Ni200/Ni201: ASTM B160 (Nickel Rod and Bar). N4/N6: GB/T 4435 (Nickel and Nickel Alloy Bars). Export documentation per EN 10204 3.1.

References

Material data follows ASTM B160 and GB/T 4435; corrosion and application guidance references the Nickel Institute and ASM Specialty Handbook: Nickel, Cobalt, and Their Alloys; batch-level composition is verified against mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) and in-house inspection records.

Packaging & Delivery

Rod is supplied in bundles with protective wrapping, packed in export wooden cases, and labeled with grade, size, surface and weight. Worldwide shipping is quoted per destination. In-stock diameters dispatch in 3-7 days, standard production in 7-15 days, custom sizes in 15-30 days per drawing. Payment by L/C, T/T, Western Union or MoneyGram.

Pure Nickel Rod OEM

About DZX Alloy

DZX Alloy has produced nickel-based materials from Jiangsu, China since 2002, under ISO 9001 and SGS quality systems. The rod program is run for stock depth, not just capacity: four grades held in the same diameters, bright and standard surface states, and a 3-7 day dispatch path for in-stock sizes — so a machine shop waiting on bar gets a delivery date instead of a promise. Export experience across 60+ countries and repeat-order consistency keep the same UNS and GB grades available when production schedules need them again.
