Corrosion Resistant Nickel 200 Round Bar – Ni200 (UNS N02200)

Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) round bar stands up to hot caustic alkalis and reducing media — the corrosion profile chemical plants buy — and forges, machines and welds into the parts those media demand. Annealed, 8-20 mm in stock, 3-300 mm per drawing. Factory-direct from Changzhou, China, with EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates.

Overview

Chemical process buyers order corrosion-grade bar on media, temperature and documented chemistry — not on adjectives. Corrosion resistant nickel 200 round bar in Ni200 (UNS N02200) earns that order by standing up to hot caustic alkalis and reducing media, then forging, machining and welding into the parts those media demand. Annealed bar in 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm diameters is stocked at the Changzhou mill; other diameters run from 3-300 mm per drawing. Every lot ships with a mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) recording lot chemistry.

Key Strengths

  • Corrosion profile that matters: hot caustic alkalis and reducing media — where nickel is specified over stainless and copper alloys.

  • Workable into parts: forgeable, machinable and weldable, so corrosion-grade bar becomes corrosion-grade components.

  • 8-20 mm diameters in stock with 3-7 day dispatch; 3-300 mm per drawing.

  • Melt-to-crate traceability: EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates with every lot.

  • Factory-direct from Changzhou, China, exporting to 60+ countries since 2002.

Technical Details

What Corrosion Resistance Means for Ni200 Round Bar

Nickel resists what corrodes most other metals: hot concentrated and molten caustic alkalis, and reducing or non-oxidizing media where its protective oxide film stays intact. That is the honest capability zone of the pure nickel series. What nickel does not promise: oxidizing acids such as nitric acid, wet chlorine and hypochlorite, hot sulfur-bearing atmospheres, and seawater or chloride service where pitting is a real risk — for those duties, confirm the grade or look to nickel alloys designed for them. Buying on media, temperature and concentration beats buying on adjectives.

From Corrosion-Grade Bar to Finished Part

Corrosion bar only earns its place when it can be made into the component — and Ni200 round bar forges, machines and welds without exotic tooling. Hot and cold forging shape flanges, fittings and valve parts; turning, milling and drilling hold the tolerances chemical parts need. Nickel work-hardens during cutting, so sharp tools and steady feeds give the cleanest results, and a fine-grain annealed structure cuts most consistently. It welds by argon arc, resistance and laser methods with matching nickel filler.

Production Route and What It Controls

Each bar batch starts from analyzed electrolytic nickel, melted under controlled atmosphere, refined and cast, then hot worked to diameter, annealed, straightened and surface finished. Composition is checked at the melt, mechanical properties after heat treatment, and dimension, straightness and surface at final inspection. The route is standard nickel-mill practice; what matters for the buyer is that the mill certificate (EN 10204 3.1) records the actual lot — not a generic datasheet.

Supplying Corrosion Bar Internationally

Orders from overseas chemical and process plants are quoted against drawings with grade, surface, tolerance and delivery confirmed before scheduling. Shipments carry EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates and dual documentation where needed — ASTM B160 for UNS grades, GB/T 4435 for N4/N6 — so incoming inspection has what it asks for. Factory-direct supply from Changzhou means one accountable line from melt to export crate, whether the order is 10 kg or 10 tons.

Mechanical & Physical Properties

Annealed bar: tensile strength ≥462 MPa, 0.2% yield strength ≥148 MPa, elongation ≥35%, hardness 90-120 HB. Physical constants: density 8.908 g/cm³, melting point 1435-1446°C, thermal conductivity (Ni200) 70.2 W/m·K, electrical resistivity 0.096 μΩ·m (stable electrical performance — resistor and heating-element duty belongs to NiCr alloys), coefficient of thermal expansion ≈13.3 µm/m·K (typical), magnetic (ferromagnetic below the Curie point of 358°C).

Quality Assurance

Production runs under ISO 9001 quality systems with SGS-verified processes. Each batch passes chemical composition analysis (spectral), mechanical property testing (tensile, hardness), and dimensional and surface inspection before packing; corrosion behaviour is verified against the grade standard where the service is declared. Mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) document each lot.

FAQ

  1. Q: Where is the bar produced?
A: At our mill in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China, in operation since 2002.

  2. Q: Does Ni200 resist acids?
A: It resists caustic alkalis and reducing media well. Oxidizing acids such as nitric acid, wet chlorine and hot sulfur-bearing atmospheres are outside its capability — confirm media, temperature and concentration and the grade is selected against the service, not a generic claim.

  3. Q: What is the difference between Ni200 and Ni201?
A: Ni201 limits carbon to 0.02% (Ni200: 0.15%), so Ni201 is specified where parts see sustained service above about 315°C. Ni200 covers general corrosive duty.

  4. Q: What export documents do you provide?
A: EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates recording actual lot chemistry and mechanicals, plus ASTM B160 / GB/T 4435 references for incoming inspection.

  5. Q: What sizes are available?
A: 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm diameters are stocked; other diameters from 3-300 mm and lengths up to 6000 mm are produced per drawing.

  6. Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
    A: MOQ is 10 kg.

  7. Q: What is the delivery time?
A: 3-7 days for in-stock diameters, 7-15 days for standard production, 15-30 days for custom sizes per drawing.

  8. Q: How is pricing determined?
A: Quoted by grade, diameter and quantity once the drawing or spec is received — no nominal prices that ignore size and grade.

  9. Q: What payment terms are accepted?
    A: L/C, T/T, Western Union and MoneyGram.
