Overview
When a production line is waiting on wire, delivery speed is part of the specification. Highly corrosion resistant nickel wire in 0.025-10 mm diameters ships in small in-stock quantities within 3-7 days and standard production within 7-15 days — while the face-centered cubic structure keeps the wire ductile, weldable and processable on your line. Four grades, N4 (≥99.9% Ni+Co) down to Ni201 (≥99.0%), are supplied with mill certificates recording the actual lot composition. Micro wire from 1 kg, standard wire from 5 kg.
Weldable Pure Nickel vs Plated and Alloyed Wire
Welding exposes what a material is made of. Nickel-plated wire carries a coating that melts into the weld puddle and contaminates the joint; nickel alloy wire welds with a different filler chemistry and a different corrosion profile. Solid pure nickel wire is homogeneous through the cross-section — there is no coating to burn off and no alloy addition to manage, so joints match the parent metal and the weld zone keeps the same corrosion resistance as the as-drawn surface. That is what "weldable" means on this page, and it is why fabricators specify it for welded assemblies in chemical and electrical service.

Key Strengths
Clean welding: homogeneous cross-section, no coating to contaminate joints, weld zones match parent metal.
Processable in the shop: FCC structure gives ductile bends, tight coiling and consistent draw-down.
High corrosion resistance for chemical, marine and aerospace service.
Grade-matched purity — N4 ≥99.9% down to Ni200/Ni201 ≥99.0-99.2% — verified by mill certificates.
Delivery that fits production: 3-7 days for small in-stock quantities, 7-15 days standard production.
Technical Details
Weldability and Processability in Practice
The face-centered cubic (FCC) lattice is the reason this wire behaves in the shop: multiple slip systems allow uniform plastic deformation, so wire bends, coils, forms and welds without cracking, and joints stay consistent along the spool. Because the metal is homogeneous — no plating, no coating — cut ends and weld zones behave exactly like the parent material. For automated welding, specify temper and diameter against your process; the drawing and mill certificate keep the wire matched to the joint.
Corrosion Resistance Where It Counts
Pure nickel resists corrosion in reducing media, alkalis and many organic environments, which is why the wire appears in chemical processing equipment, marine components and aerospace assemblies. The resistance is a property of the metal rather than a surface treatment, so weld zones and edges keep the same profile as the as-drawn surface. For specific media, confirm operating temperature and concentration against your process conditions — the mill certificate records the actual lot composition.
Grade Purity, Verified by Certificate
Purity is specified per grade: N4 (≥99.9% Ni+Co) for the highest-purity service, N6 (≥99.5%) for general duty, Ni201 (≥99.0%, C ≤0.02%) for low-carbon welding-sensitive work, Ni200 (≥99.2%, C ≤0.15%) for standard mechanical and electrical applications — all four in Pure Nickel Series. Every spool ships with a mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1), so the purity on the order is the purity on the coil.
From Order to Coil: Delivery Tiers
Wire is drawn on a dedicated nickel line with a capacity of up to 300 tons per month, which keeps lead times predictable: small in-stock quantities ship in 3-7 days, standard production in 7-15 days, and custom diameters or tight tolerances in 15-30 days confirmed per drawing. Sending the drawing and quantity up front locks the grade, diameter and temper — and the delivery date — before the line schedule fills.
Pricing
Wire is priced by grade, FOB USD/kg: N4 $420-480, Ni201 $350-390, Ni200 $340-380, N6 $300-340. Micro wire (≤0.05 mm) from 1 kg; standard wire from 5 kg. Custom diameters and tight tolerances are quoted per drawing.
