Overview
Solid pure nickel wire is drawn as a single cross-section for industrial service where corrosion resistance, thermal stability and mechanical strength are required together. Diameters run from 0.025 mm to 10 mm in four grades: N4 (≥99.9% Ni+Co), N6 (≥99.5%), Ni200 (UNS N02200, ≥99.2%) and Ni201 (UNS N02201, ≥99.0%). Purity is specified against the grade the service needs. Micro wire is ordered from 1 kg.
Material Identity of Solid Pure Nickel
The four grades on this page are commercial-purity nickel: N4 (NP1), N6 (NP2), Ni200 and Ni201. No deliberate alloy additions go into the melt, so the electrical and magnetic behaviour follows from the grade analysis. Where a drawing calls for precipitation hardening or a specified alloy chemistry, that component belongs to a different material class. Welding assemblies, electrical contacts and electronic component positions are specified in solid pure nickel.

Key Strengths
Grade-matched purity: Ni+Co at ≥99.9% for N4, ≥99.5% for N6, ≥99.2% for Ni200 and ≥99.0% for Ni201, with carbon limits set per grade.
Corrosion resistance: holds in alkaline and reducing media, and the boundary follows the medium and its temperature.
Electrical response: resistivity of 0.096 μΩ·m for contacts, conductors and component leads.
Thermal stability: melting point of 1435–1446°C, with mechanical properties retained in elevated-temperature service.
Supply form: solid wire on spools or coils, welded on standard feeding equipment.
Technical Details
Corrosion, Heat and Mechanical Strength
In chemical equipment, processing machinery and electrical appliances, the wire is specified against three requirements at once: corrosive media, elevated temperature and mechanical loading through assembly. Annealed wire carries tensile strength of ≥462 MPa with elongation ≥35%, and the melting point is 1435–1446°C. Chemical equipment and electrical contact assemblies are the positions where this combination carries the decision.
Choosing Among the Four Grades
Four grades cover the purity range of the Pure Nickel Series: N4 (≥99.9% Ni+Co) for research and vacuum positions; N6 (≥99.5%) for general industrial use; Ni201 (≥99.0%, C ≤0.02%) for low-carbon and welding-sensitive positions; Ni200 (≥99.2%, C ≤0.15%) for standard mechanical and electrical service. Grade selection follows the analysis the service requires, and the mill certificate states the composition of the batch supplied.
Solid Construction and Drawing Consistency
Solid wire is drawn in one continuous cross-section, which keeps resistance per unit length uniform and welding behaviour repeatable. Stranded and braided constructions serve the applications where flexibility comes first. Diameter and surface are checked against the order tolerance, and coils are wound under controlled tension so the wire pays off cleanly on automated equipment.
Industrial Selection Matrix
Chemical equipment and process machinery take N4 or N6, where corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability carry the decision. Electrical contacts and conductors take Ni200 or N6, which balance conductivity against mechanical strength. Welding-sensitive and electronic component positions take Ni201 or N4, where low carbon protects weld quality. Grade, diameter and temper are confirmed against the drawing before the order is placed, and the mill certificate records the lot composition.

Packaging & Delivery
Wire is wound on spools in carton boxes or supplied as coils in polybags, with protective packing and a safety data sheet. Custom diameters and tight tolerances are quoted per drawing. Standard production ships in 7–15 days, small in-stock quantities in 3–7 days, and custom diameters in 15–30 days once the drawing is agreed.

FAQ
How do the four grades differ in service?
Match the grade to the position: N4 where the highest purity is required, N6 for general industrial wire, Ni201 where welding quality carries weight, and Ni200 for standard mechanical and electrical duty.
Which wire sizes and tempers are produced?
Round wire from 0.025 mm to 10 mm in soft, hard or 1/2 hard temper. Non-standard diameters and closer tolerances are drawn to the order drawing, with the tightest band on micro sizes.
Is solid construction different from stranded wire?
Solid wire is drawn as one cross-section and holds its shape on feeding equipment, which suits automated winding and contact welding. Stranded or braided forms are supplied where flexibility comes first.
How is the wire welded into industrial assemblies?
The wire welds reliably into finished assemblies, and surface condition on the coil supports consistent weld quality. Grade and temper on the drawing set the welding parameters.
What is the MOQ and sample policy?
Micro wire at or below 0.05 mm starts at 1 kg; standard sizes at 5 kg. Samples are free for N6/Ni200 (0.5 kg); N4/Ni201 samples are charged and refunded on a first order of 50 kg or more.
Which documents accompany the shipment?
EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates covering composition, dimensions and mechanical values, together with batch records tied to the melt and lot.
