Oil and gas service puts the wire against caustic injection and sour produced fluids, and the medium settles the grade before price enters the discussion. This nickel wire product range is drawn from 0.025 mm to 10 mm in NP1 (N4) and NP2 (N6), for alkaline and reducing media and for hydrofluoric service, with oxidation and sulfidation resistance at temperature. In oil and gas equipment it serves in woven gaskets and seals, welding filler and sensor leads; equipment bodies take solid forms instead.

Three material families cover oil and gas hardware, and the medium sorts them. Stainless steel handles general corrosion at the lowest cost, while hot caustic and hydrofluoric streams fall outside what it holds. Pure nickel takes those three and welds and forms into the shapes the equipment needs. Monel, a nickel-copper alloy, reaches into broader acid service and runs as a separate product line. Conductivity and strength set the opposite edge: nickel conducts heat at 70.2 W/m·K for Ni200, below copper and aluminium, and it carries less load than titanium or high-strength stainless, so heat-exchange surfaces and heavy structural parts go to other materials.

Micro wire (≤0.05 mm) is available at a 1 kg MOQ, and standard wire sizes start at a 5 kg MOQ. Thickness and dimensions are produced to customer requirements; submit your drawing for review.
Corrosion resistance: the oxide film that forms in air limits further attack in hot alkaline and reducing media.
High-temperature stability: structure and mechanical properties hold under heat, with a melting point of 1435–1446°C.
Weldability and formability: cold drawn, hot drawn or rolled, and welded into finished assemblies.
Mechanical reliability: ductility for formed shapes, with annealed tensile strength of ≥462 MPa.
Electrical behaviour: resistivity of 0.096 μΩ·m for sensor and instrument leads.

At temperature the wire forms a dense oxide film that limits further oxidation, and it holds against alkaline media such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide, against sulfide-bearing atmospheres, and in reducing and hydrofluoric service. Strong oxidizing acids sit outside that set: nitric acid and hot concentrated sulfuric or hydrochloric acid attack nickel, so the medium, concentration and temperature are checked before a grade is specified.
NP1 (N4) runs at ≥99.9% Ni+Co with carbon held to 0.01%, and it goes into instrument and sensor wire where trace elements have to stay low. NP2 (N6) at ≥99.5% covers general oil and gas wire at a lower price per kg. Both are commercial-purity nickel, and the ASTM equivalents drawn on the same line are Ni201 (UNS N02201) and Ni200 (UNS N02200). The designation system named on the order sets the limits the certificate is checked against.
In oil and gas equipment the wire appears in gaskets and seals for flanges and valves, in welding filler for nickel-to-nickel and dissimilar joints, and in sensor and instrument leads for downhole and process monitoring. Connecting and shielding wires in control systems are supplied from the same stock. Equipment bodies such as process vessels and heat exchangers take solid forms instead, drawn from the Pure Nickel Plate and tube lines, and this page covers the wire forms.
Cost and magnetic behaviour set the outer limits. Nickel wire costs more than carbon steel or stainless steel, given the purity and refinement the grade requires. Thermal conductivity sits below copper and aluminium, which places heat-exchange surfaces with other materials. Strength and hardness sit below titanium and high-strength stainless, so heavy structural parts go elsewhere. The wire is ferromagnetic, with a Curie temperature of 358°C, which is a consideration for shielding and for magnetic-field-sensitive instrumentation.

Chemistry by analysis leads the release check, with diameter and mechanical values recorded on the same document. Results are filed per batch and retained, so a delivered spool can be matched to the analysis the buyer approved. Export orders ship with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.

Woven gasket and seal wire is supplied on spools or as coils, wrapped against moisture and oxidation, with the batch number on the label. Standard production leaves in 7–15 days, small in-stock quantities in 3–7 days, and custom diameters in 15–30 days once the drawing is agreed.

Repeat orders are where corrosion supply is won or lost, so the wire that arrives is the wire that was qualified: same grade chemistry and same surface finish, shipment after shipment. DZX has run a nickel-focused line since 2002, works to ISO 9001 and SGS certified systems, and brings 20+ years of drawing experience, 50+ patents, 1,000+ product configurations and 2,000+ partners across 60+ export countries.

NP1 (N4) at ≥99.9% for instrument and sensor positions; NP2 (N6) at ≥99.5% for general oil and gas wire. The corrosive medium settles the choice, and the certificate carries the batch chemistry against the limits of the grade ordered.
The wire holds reducing and hydrofluoric media, and oxidizing acids attack it. The boundary follows the medium and its temperature; send the operating conditions and suitability is checked against them.
Round wire from 0.025 mm to 10 mm in soft, hard or 1/2 hard temper. Tolerances are set by the drawing and fixed at order approval, with the tightest band on micro sizes at or below 0.05 mm.
Yes. The wire welds reliably into gasket and seal assemblies, and is formed by cold drawing, hot drawing or rolling. The forming route on the drawing sets the temper supplied with it.
Micro wire (≤0.05 mm) starts at 1 kg; standard wire at 5 kg. Samples are free for N6/NP2 and Ni200 (0.5 kg); N4/NP1 and Ni201 samples are charged and refunded on a first order of 50 kg or more.
Standard production ships in 7–15 days, small in-stock quantities in 3–7 days, and custom requirements in 15–30 days after the drawing is approved. Export orders include EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates and batch test records.
