Overview

Pure nickel rod and bar in Ni200 (UNS N02200), Ni201 (UNS N02201), N4 and N6 is supplied in trial quantities, with free 0.5 kg samples for N6 and Ni200 so a test part can be machined and the finish checked before the order is scaled. Standard diameters 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm are held in stock for quick shipment, other sizes are produced per drawing, and a mill test certificate accompanies every lot.

Pure Nickel Bar

Pure Nickel Bar vs Nickel Alloy Bar

The name difference is a material difference. Pure nickel rod and bar carries no intentional alloying additions: Ni200 and Ni201 (UNS N02200 / N02201) are the ASTM grades for commercially pure wrought nickel, and N4 and N6 are the high-purity equivalents under GB/T 4435. Nickel alloy bars such as Monel and Inconel add copper, iron or chromium to change the corrosion and strength profile. Pure nickel is specified for the combination it brings on its own: resistance to caustic alkalis, stability in reducing chemicals, and steady behaviour in vacuum and electronic components. Orders that call for a specific alloy property sit with the nickel alloy families, and the grade is matched to the media and the operating temperature supplied with the inquiry.

Key Strengths

  • Trial-friendly supply: samples for N6 and Ni200 are free.

  • Four grades on one order: N4 (≥99.9%) through Ni200 (≥99.2%), purity stated by grade.

  • Annealed bar stocked in 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm; other diameters and lengths per drawing.

  • Proven in caustic alkalis and reducing chemicals, and machined into components for vacuum and electronic equipment.

  • Sample lots and production lots are made to one grade standard and documented alike.

Technical Details

Start Small: Samples and Trial Orders

Grade qualification does not need a full production batch. N6 and Ni200 samples of 0.5 kg are free, and N4 or Ni201 samples are supplied at cost, refunded on a first order of 50 kg or more. That quantity covers a test bar, a weld trial or a corrosion check in the buyer's own process. Trial orders start at 10 kg, which is enough to confirm machinability and lot consistency on the shop's own machines. Send the drawing and quantity with the inquiry, and the grade and the delivery date are agreed before scheduling.

Which Grade to Trial First

Ni200 (≥99.2%) is the general grade, resistant to caustic alkalis and reducing media, and the usual first choice where the process is still being fixed. Ni201 (≥99.0%) is the low-carbon version at C ≤0.02%, specified for parts that run at temperature, where carbon in the general grade can reach the grain boundaries over long service. N6 (≥99.5%) is the general high-purity grade and N4 (≥99.9%) the highest-purity one, both applied where the total of the remaining elements matters to the part. All four sit inside the pure nickel series rod and bar program, so a trial can be run on any of them in the stock diameters.

What a Trial Cut Tells You

Annealed pure nickel is ductile and cuts with a slightly gummy chip compared with alloy steel, and the trial part answers what a specification sheet leaves open: whether the tooling geometry and speed suit the material, how the finish comes off the tool, and whether the part holds tolerance after machining. Sharp tooling, positive rake and adequate lubrication keep turning and drilling clean. The material welds readily with matching filler, and its face-centered cubic structure keeps cut and formed surfaces free of the cracking seen in higher-strength grades. For a welded assembly that runs at temperature, the trial is the point to compare the general grade against the low-carbon one.

Sample Batch and Production Batch

A sample and the production order that follows are made to one grade standard and documented to one format; what changes is the heat number. Composition and mechanical results are verified on every production batch, and hardness in the annealed condition runs 90-120 HB. Both lots carry the grade, the heat number and the certificate, so the trail from trial to production order stays intact.

Quality Assurance

Every batch passes chemical composition analysis and dimensional inspection before packing, under ISO 9001 quality systems and SGS-verified processes. Mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) and batch records are issued with the shipment, and trial orders pass through the inspection sequence used for production orders.

Pure Nickel Rod OEM

About DZX Alloy

DZX Alloy has supplied pure nickel and specialty alloys from Jiangsu, China since 2002, with ISO 9001 and SGS-certified production covering the nickel product families. Rod and bar stock in 8-20 mm diameters, and per-drawing sizes beyond that, is backed by a sample and trial-order route: buyers qualify the grade and the machinability on samples and trial lots, then place production against the qualified drawing.

Send the drawing and quantity; the offer states grade, size and delivery.

  2. Q: What is the minimum order quantity for a trial?
A: 10 kg of rod and bar, which is why the entry point suits a qualification run as well as a production order.

  3. Q: Which grade should I trial first?
A: Ni200 (≥99.2%) for general service in caustic and reducing media; Ni201 (C ≤0.02%) where the part runs at temperature; N6 (≥99.5%) or N4 (≥99.9%) where the total of the remaining elements matters to the part.

  4. Q: Which diameters can be trialled?
A: Trials run on the stocked diameters of 8, 10, 12 and 20 mm; other diameters and lengths are produced per drawing.

  5. Q: What is the delivery time?
A: 3-7 days for small in-stock quantities, 7-15 days for standard production, and 15-30 days for sizes beyond stock per drawing.

  6. Q: Does the production lot match the sample?
A: Both are made to one grade standard, and each carries its own EN 10204 3.1 certificate. The heat number differs from lot to lot and is recorded on the certificate.

  7. Q: Do you issue mill certificates?
A: Yes, mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1) recording the composition and mechanicals of the lot are issued with each shipment.

  8. Q: What are the accepted payment terms?
    A: L/C, T/T, Western Union and MoneyGram.
