Hexagonal and Square Pure Nickel Bar Ni200 Ni201 N4 N6
Hexagonal and square pure nickel bar in Ni200, Ni201, N4 and N6, produced to the across-flats or side dimension taken from the drawing, alongside the 8-20 mm round bar held in stock, annealed, with mill certificates.
Hexagonal and Square Sections to Drawing | 8-20 mm Round Bar In Stock | ISO 9001 & SGS Certified
Hexagonal and square pure nickel bar in Ni200, Ni201, N4 and N6 is produced to the across-flats or side dimension taken from your drawing, in the annealed temper, while round bar in 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm and 20 mm is held in stock for short-notice dispatch. Lengths run to 6000 mm, and a mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) covers every lot.
Shaped Bar and Round Bar: Two Ways to Buy the Same Material
A round bar is ordered by diameter and reduced to the finished form in the shop, which suits parts that are turned all over and leave no flat surface. A hexagon or square bar is ordered by the section that the finished part already has, so the bar arrives closer to the final shape and the shop removes less material to reach it. Both routes use the same four grades in the pure nickel series, and both are quoted from the drawing.
The two sections are named differently on a purchase order. A hexagon is specified by its across-flats dimension, measured between opposite flats, while a square is specified by its side length. Corner radius or chamfer, length and tolerance follow the drawing.

Technical Details
Across-Flats and Side Length in a Purchase Order
Two numbers define the order. For a hexagon it is the across-flats dimension, taken between opposite flats and written with the tolerance the part allows. For a square it is the side length, from which the diagonal follows. Where a drawing shows a corner radius or a chamfer, that value travels with the order as well, since it decides how the bar seats in a fixture and how much material is left for the finishing cut.
Where a Shaped Section Saves Shop Time
A part that already has flats begins from stock that already has flats. Ordering to the finished profile means fewer roughing operations to reach it, less swarf to handle, and a shorter cycle per piece once the job is running. The saving is largest on parts produced in quantity, where each operation removed from the route is removed from every piece.
Cut Lengths and Tolerances for Shaped Sections
Bar is cut to the length on the drawing, and the bar program supports lengths up to 6000 mm. Length tolerance, squareness of the cut and the permitted straightness deviation are agreed when the order is placed, and every consignment is checked against those figures before packing.
Stock, Drawing Work and Dispatch in One Order
A single order can combine the two routes: round bar drawn from the 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm and 20 mm stock for the parts that are turned, and hexagonal or square sections made to the drawing for the parts that are not. In-stock items leave in 3-7 days, standard production runs in 7-15 days, and sections made to drawing ship in 15-30 days, so a mixed order can be phased against a build schedule.

Mechanical & Physical Properties
Annealed bar: tensile strength ≥462 MPa, 0.2% yield strength ≥148 MPa, elongation ≥35%, hardness 90-120 HB. Physical constants: density 8.908 g/cm³, melting point 1435-1446°C, electrical resistivity 0.096 μΩ·m, thermal conductivity (Ni200) 70.2 W/m·K, ferromagnetic below the Curie point of 358°C.
Quality Assurance
Each lot is measured at the section and at the cut length stated on the drawing before it is packed, and the heat is analysed for composition at the melt. The mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) issued for the lot carries that composition and the mechanical results for the sections supplied.
Applicable Standards
Ni200/Ni201: ASTM B160 (Nickel Rod and Bar). N4/N6: GB/T 4435 (Nickel and Nickel Alloy Bars). Export documentation per EN 10204 3.1.
References
Material data references ASTM B160 and GB/T 4435; section and tolerance guidance follows standard bar practice for nickel; corrosion and application guidance references the Nickel Institute and the ASM Specialty Handbook: Nickel, Cobalt, and Their Alloys; batch composition is verified against mill test certificates and in-house inspection records.
Packaging & Delivery
Shaped and round bar are supplied in cut lengths or full bars, wrapped against moisture and packed in export wooden cases. The label carries the grade, the section and the length supplied. In-stock diameters dispatch in 3-7 days, standard production in 7-15 days, and drawing work in 15-30 days. Freight is quoted per destination, and payment is by L/C, T/T, Western Union or MoneyGram.
About DZX Alloy
Nickel-based material has been melted and processed at DZX Alloy's Changzhou, Jiangsu mill since 2002 under ISO 9001 and SGS quality systems, with exports to 60+ countries. Shaped sections and round bar come off the same melt and the same heat treatment, so a mixed order carries one certificate, and the form supplied is written onto the case label for checking at goods-in.

FAQ
Q: How do I order a hexagonal nickel bar? A: State the across-flats dimension with its tolerance, the length, the grade and the quantity. The bar is produced to that section and checked against it before packing.
Q: How is a square bar specified? A: By side length, plus the length, grade and quantity. The diagonal follows from the side length, and a corner radius or chamfer on the drawing is carried into production.
Q: Can hex and square bar be supplied in all four grades? A: Yes. Ni200, Ni201, N4 and N6 are all supplied in shaped sections, and all are annealed as standard.
Q: What lengths can be supplied? A: Lengths are cut to the drawing, and the bar program supports lengths up to 6000 mm.
Q: What tolerance applies to the across-flats dimension? A: The tolerance is the one stated on the drawing and is agreed when the order is placed; the lot is measured against it before packing.
Q: Which round sizes can ship from stock? A: 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm and 20 mm round bar are held in stock and dispatch in 3-7 days.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity? A: MOQ is 10 kg.
Q: What is the delivery time? A: In-stock items dispatch in 3-7 days, standard production in 7-15 days, and sections made to drawing in 15-30 days.
Q: What documents accompany a shaped bar order? A: A mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) stating lot chemistry and mechanical results, together with the standard export documentation for the destination.
Q: What payment terms are accepted? A: L/C, T/T, Western Union and MoneyGram.
