Product Detail
Cast Lots Scheduled in 15-30 Days | Cut to Charging Length | ISO 9001 & SGS Certified

K418 (713C) master alloy bar is vacuum melted and cast round in diameters from 8.0 mm to 200 mm, cut to the charging length used at the foundry and released with a mill test certificate for the heat. Composition and impurity limits are fixed on the order, one grade per cast, and each lot is scheduled against the plant's melt plan.

Where K418 (713C) Sits in the Cast Grade Series

K418 (713C) is a cast grade designation. It appears in the cast grade series used for high-temperature alloys in the Chinese standard system, and the same material is written under the trade designation 713C. A foundry ordering it buys a charge addition, so the useful specification is the composition and the impurity limits agreed for the grade rather than a table of finished-part properties.

In form the bar belongs with the high temperature alloy bars supplied in round sections from this plant, and it comes off the same cast route. In use it is an addition rather than a part: the bar is weighed into a melt to bring the elements the grade carries into the heat, and it is consumed at that stage.

Key Strengths

  • One grade per cast, melted to the K418 (713C) composition agreed on the order.

  • Limits held for the elements controlled most closely in this grade.

  • Cut to the charging length, so pieces are weighed in without a second cutting step.

  • Lot chemistry reported for the heat on the mill test certificate.

  • Casting slot booked against the plant's melt plan rather than a catalogue date.

Technical Details

What K418 Adds to a Heat

The bar is charged to bring specific elements into a heat in a controlled proportion. The addition is small against the weight of the charge, which is why the limits on the elements that have to stay low carry as much weight as the elements the grade is bought for: a tramp element introduced at this stage spreads through the whole melt. Aluminium, silicon and iron are among the elements controlled most closely in K418 (713C), and their limits are agreed with the customer rather than read from a stock sheet.

Cutting to the Charging Practice

Cut length is what makes an addition usable at the furnace. A shop that charges a set weight per heat wants pieces that can be weighed in directly, without a second cutting operation and without offcuts that cannot be traced back to the lot. Bars are cut to the length stated on the order, and the same length is carried forward on a repeat call unless the charging practice changes.

Where the Composition Check Sits

The route from raw material to packed bar runs through vacuum melting and bar casting, with a composition check placed between the two. That is the stage at which a correction can still be made without scrapping the lot, so the chemistry reported on the certificate is the chemistry of the bar that was cast.

What Changes on a Repeat Order

A repeat call does not restart from the beginning. The agreed grade and cut length are already on file with the lot record, so an enquiry can be turned into an offer without re-specifying the material. Quote the earlier lot number or order and the offer notes what was supplied last time, which is also how two deliveries of the same grade are checked against one agreement.

From Enquiry to Dispatch

Most of the elapsed time in a master alloy order is spent exchanging information rather than melting. The specification settles first: grade, diameter, cut length, quantity, destination port. A slot on the melt plan can only be booked against a fixed specification, and every clarification after that point moves the slot. Once the order is placed, the lot is scheduled on a 15-30 day window. The route then runs in sequence: melt, composition check, casting, cutting, inspection, packing, with the export documents prepared alongside. The sea leg is quoted separately against the destination.

Quality Assurance

Composition is checked against the agreed grade at the melt and again on the finished lot before release, and the surface is inspected for cracks and contamination before the bar is packed. Where the order calls for it, structure uniformity is assessed as well. The certificate issued for the lot states the composition of the material supplied, which is what allows a consignee to compare the bar against the document that arrived with it.

Master alloy casting rods Attributes

References

Grade designations follow the cast grade series used for high-temperature alloys in the Chinese standard system, where K418 is also written as 713C. Composition and impurity limits are checked against the grade agreed on the order, and lot chemistry and structure are checked against mill test certificates and in-house inspection records. Service guidance for elevated temperatures draws on the ASM Specialty Handbook: Nickel, Cobalt, and Their Alloys and on Nickel Institute publications.

Packaging & Delivery

Bar travels in rod bundles with protective wrapping, inside export wooden cases labelled with the grade and the lot number. Cutting is completed to the length on the order before packing, so a case reaches the foundry ready to be charged rather than cut down on site. Dispatch is tied to the melt plan and the date is given at order stage; freight is quoted on FOB, CFR or CIF terms against the destination named on the enquiry.

About DZX Alloy

The master alloy line runs at the Changzhou, Jiangsu works of Jiangsu DZX Technology Co., Ltd., a plant that has melted and processed alloys since 2002 and ships to 60+ export countries under ISO 9001 and SGS audited systems. Casting slots for this grade are booked against the same melt plan the works uses for its bar and wire output, and each lot is recorded against the heat that produced it.

FAQ

Q: What is K418 (713C) master alloy bar used for?
A: It is charged into a melt to bring the elements the grade carries into a heat in a controlled proportion, and it is consumed at that stage rather than machined into a component.

Q: Which diameters and cut lengths ship for this grade?
A: Round bar from 8.0 mm to 200 mm, cut to the length your charging practice uses. Both are set on the order.

Q: How long does a lot take to make?
A: Production is scheduled on a 15-30 day window from order confirmation. The sea leg is quoted separately against the destination.

Q: When does the schedule start?
A: Once the specification and the destination are agreed and the order is booked, the lot goes against the melt plan.

Q: Is the melt made under vacuum?
A: Yes. K418 (713C) bar is melted under vacuum and cast to round section, with the composition check sitting between the melt and the casting step.

Q: How are the controlled elements handled?
A: Limits for the elements controlled in this grade are agreed before the cast and checked on the finished lot.

Q: Which documents are issued with a lot?
A: A mill test certificate stating the composition of the heat, plus the packing list and the shipping documents for the destination.

Q: What is the smallest quantity?
A: It follows from the diameter and the quantity your furnace charges, and is settled with the grade when the order is placed.

Q: Can the same grade be ordered again later?
A: Yes. The grade and cut length stay on file with the lot record, so a repeat call is quoted without re-specifying the material.

Q: How are freight and payment agreed?
A: Freight is quoted against the destination named on the enquiry, and payment terms are agreed when the order is placed.
